Ok, so I like being alone.
I like being alone or with one or two of my friends at a time. I do not do well in large groups. It might have to do with being generally anxious or I just really value a one on one connection. I don't know why and I feel really ok with that.
I don't need to know everything about myself.
When I'm alone I do need subtle distractions so that my brain doesn't overload on internal thoughts. If left in a room alone with just me and my thoughts...I shutter at the thought.
A really great source of distraction for me, besides music is a small collection of Podcasts. I've known about Podcasts since my first podcast way back in the early days of the iPod nano. I dabbled in the podcasting function of iTunes but I never really lived in the world of what is basically digital talk radio.
Another Round | Literally my staple podcast. Black women talking about mental health, how the world effects us, current events, and being ok with not being ok.
Overdue | Podcast about books. That's all you need.
Still Processing | Pop culture conversations and current events
Myths and Legends | Reading little known myths and legends. I love myths, legends and fairy tales.
The History Chicks | Learning about women in history...so good. So good.
Presidential | Who is the 12th President of the United States? Yeah no one knows that off the top of their heads. This podcast talks about each president of the US and it's amazing for someone who loves history.
